Prayer flags

Prayer flags are colorful panels or rectangular cloths often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks in the Himalayas to bless the surrounding countryside.

What exactly are they said to bring? Why do they have to be hung in the wind? Find the answers on the internet and post them as comments.

Prayer flags are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the
flag planter and those in the vicinity. They are hung in the wind so that it
can carry the prayers.
